Hemp Power Balls – Vegan, Gluten-Free

I’ve been a fan of hemp seeds for a while but I recently tried hemp protein powder for the first time.  After browsing many brands at my health food store, I picked up Manitoba Harvest Hemp Pro 50.  What I LOVE about it is there is ONE ingredient! Yes, one –> HEMP.  I mean how much easier and natural can it get?? It’s a raw plant based protein which also makes it vegan.

Many people (including me!) have steered clear of hemp protein powder because it is gritty or it has a “earthy” taste.  But they obviously have not tried Manitoba Harvest because it blends effortlessly into smoothies with no gritty feeling or weird aftertaste.  It’s pretty darn amazing.

Manitoba Harvest carries a wide range of products: hemp hearts, hemp bars hemp oil, hemp milk and of course a variety of hemp protein powders both flavoured and unflavoured.

While this protein powder is perfect in smoothies I though I’d make some power balls since I was needing a little pick me up before the gym.  I also included their hemp hearts in this recipe as well.

These are no-bake, vegan, gluten-free and take just minutes to prepare.Hemp_Power_Balls_Vegan_Gluten-Free_thehappyhealthfreak.com
